Church Reopening

Church Family,

The state moved Riverside County from the “Widespread” to the “Substantial” risk tier. This change means that our church may resume indoor services with 100 attendees. This also means we will be entering the church next Sabbath, October 3rd. We are taking all the precautions we can to maintain a service that will be meaningful and safe. When we enter the sanctuary, we will continue to offer our drive-in and zoom options, broadcasting audio to the vehicles in the area once we reach capacity.

Both the state and the body of churches we belong to have guidelines and requirements to help keep us safe. Below are some changes to expect as we return for indoor services.

Worship:

  • - Temperature readings and symptom screening will be taken before entry.

  • - Masks will be required while in the building.

  • - We ask that you fill out a family card as you enter for contact tracing in case an outbreak happens.

  • - We will be welcoming 100 worshipers into the building. Once we are at capacity, attendees can connect with us via zoom or in their cars tuned to our FM broadcast.

  • - Our service will roughly be an hour long.

  • - We will change our greeting time and other aspects of our time together to practice safe distancing.

  • - Our first few services will have instrumentals, replacing congregational singing and our praise team.

  • - Sabbath School for children will be online while Sabbath School for youth and adults will not be in person for the first few sabbaths.

Building:

  • - MERV 11 filters for our church air conditioning system are in place to help provide improved air conditions.

  • - Physical distancing markers are in the church for seating as subtle reminders.

  • - Distancing markers and reminders have been placed at the entrance and in the building.

  • - Touchless hand sanitizing stations will be located at entry and exit points.

  • - Toilet seat covers are being installed in the restrooms.

  • - Increased air circulation in the bathrooms.

Sanitization:

  • - Our janitorial service has updated its cleaning supplies based on CDC recommendations.

  • - Sanitation protocols are in place for cleaning between services, if necessary.

In all the ways we choose to come together, how we come together, let us remember the words of Paul: "So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." Roman 12:5. I
